National Herb Day at the National Herb Garden
May 1, 2010
Members of the Philadelphia Unit greeted the visitors at the National Herb Garden this spring to celebrate National Herb Day. Visitors were invited to fill a tea bag with a blend from a variety of organic dried herbs and learn about teas. The backdrop for this activity was the Beverage Garden which displays herbs that have been used over the centuries for teas, liqueurs and flavorings for drinks. The Herb Garden is in the National Arboretum, Washington D.C., which began as gift to the people of the United States from the Herb Society of America.
